Last year I decided that I will miss Advent in Prague. and I'll go out into the heat. No frosts, no stress, just disappear for three whole weeks and not come back until Christmas Eve. I combined business with pleasure and set off for a language course in Barbados. How did I spend these three weeks?
How to get to Bottom Bay and what awaits you?
My seventeenth day in Barbados began a bold plan to set off again to the wild east coast, where the unbridled Atlantic Ocean rules. I heard that the bay Bottom Bay It is one of the most beautiful places on the island, so I had to go see it with my own eyes, even though the gloomy weather discouraged me.
In addition, this place is famous for its high coral reefs and a grove of coconut palms. The beach is hidden deep under the rocks and stairs lead down, which gives the whole place a touch of adventure. It's supposed to be the typical postcard Caribbean, but this time the reality hit me a little hard.
As a result of the Atlantic being quite rough today, it was almost impossible to get your feet wet in the bay. The waves were pounding the shore with enormous force, bringing with them piles of algae. To make matters worse, he stayed there after the other visitors quite a mess, which spoiled my mood a bit.
My observations from Bottom Bay:
Ferocity: The ocean here is unpredictable and swimming is often dangerous.
Purity: Unfortunately, sargassum (seaweed) and sometimes garbage accumulate here.
Atmosphere: Under the cloud, the bay looks more like a scene from a dramatic film than paradise.
Coconut and bird's eye view
Once I realized that a full day of sunbathing would not do any good, I decided to find a replacement program. I bought one from a local guy. fresh coconut and just watched the water spray. Even though it wasn't azure, these experiences from harsh nature also have something to them.
I also did a few drone flights. I was a bit nervous in the wind, but everything went well. Bottom Bay still looks amazing from above. absolutely majestic, the contrasts of white sand, palm trees and deep blue ocean are simply amazing. But after a few shots I packed it up and headed back to Oistins.
