Last year I decided that I will miss Advent in Prague. and I'll go out into the heat. No frosts, no stress, just disappear for three whole weeks and not come back until Christmas Eve. I combined business with pleasure and set off for a language course in Barbados. How did I spend these three weeks?
Last day of school
My last day of school in Barbados, he started with grammar, but in my head I only had the approaching "„big vacation„"Three weeks of honing my English in the Caribbean went by incredibly quickly, and this morning was the culmination of everything I've learned here.".
The morning lesson went on as usual – we chatted, described our experiences and they recorded our speaking so we could hear the progress. At the end we got certificates about completing the course and there was also a small farewell with refreshments.
Besides, today I fully realized for the first time that it is December 19. I have successfully avoided the Christmas madness the whole time, which was my plan to enjoy this holiday without stress. Here in the tropics you simply forget about carols and the hustle and bustle, which is a complete luxury.
A school in the Caribbean as the best investment
I feel like a schoolboy who has just started his exams. real summer vacation. That feeling of nostalgia took me back to my student years and I have to say that I rate the school as a real treat. I was a little worried at first, but now I know it was great choice.
Because I had to speak English every day, I dare to do much more than just the words in the notebook. If you are hesitant to connect travel and study, I can give you Barbados I can only recommend it. The shift in self-confidence is simply worth it.
Tranquility at Pebbles Beach
As soon as the official farewell was over, I packed my things and headed straight to the beach. In downtown Bridgetown, it was already clear that Christmas was just around the corner, as the crowds on the beach were much thicker than a week ago. I went to my favorite Pebbles Beach again. It's big, beautiful, and a short walk from school.
Pebbles Beach: My refuge, just outside the center, where there is still divine peace.
Clear water: The ideal place for a last swim after school.
Atmosphere: Watching the boats in the distance and enjoying the hot sun.
Legendary Friday night in Barbados
Because today is Friday, my journey has already led traditionally to the fish market in Oistins. I originally thought I would go here once during my vacation, but I ended up coming here every week. The energy is simply addictive and the food is absolutely fantastic.
So I gave it to myself today too legendary fish cakereally strong rum punch. I watched the guys on stage performing Michael Jackson and entertaining the entire audience. It's a fascinating mix of food, souvenirs and pure Caribbean joys, that you won't experience anywhere else.
The truth is, I didn't want to leave here at all, but tomorrow I'm waiting last big Saturday trip to the very north of the island. I need to gain strength to enjoy the finale to the fullest, so I'm heading straight to bed now.
