Last year I decided that I will miss Advent in Prague. and I'll go out into the heat. No frosts, no stress, just disappear for three whole weeks and not come back until Christmas Eve. I combined business with pleasure and set off for a language course in Barbados. How did I spend these three weeks?
Expedition to Saint Lawrence Gap
On my first night in Barbados, I realized that There's absolutely no peace and quiet here.. I found out that they don't intend to comply with it. frogs – Antillean whistling ducks. Their name really does match the reality. They are small, but they still sound almost like started circular saw, that can scream all night long. I wish I had that kind of stamina too..
Plus, the heat added to the situation.
But I still felt quite fresh in the morning. She was waiting for me at home. prepared breakfast, so I had a few words with Ricky and Kaya and headed out. It would have been a shame to stay home.
Ten kilometers in the Caribbean heat
It's Monday, public holiday, so I don't have to go to school. That's why I came up with "„a walk“". It was thirty degrees outside, the sun was beating down on my head, and I headed for the coast.
First I took it over the cliff Enterprise Cliff, then around Miami Beach. I just glanced at the beach and kept going. The road led through Oistins and then past other beautiful beaches. Finally I arrived at Saint Lawrence Gap.
I had found out that it was a neighborhood that really lives and is full of tourists, stalls and shops. However, it not valid on holidays and it was morning. When I arrived, there was a peace and there was not a single foot anywhere. It felt like a ghost town.
Most of the shops were closed and there were no stalls anywhere. That's why I just walked around, looked around and had a bite to eat at an open bistro by the beach. lunch. I ordered fried chicken strips and fries for 15 US dollars. Not a great gastronomy, but in that heat it was more than enough.
Afterwards I walked along the beach and set off back. I must say that the journey back was quite a feat. Sunshine it was burning more and more and walking a total of almost 5 kilometers each way was a pretty solid feat in this heat.
First afternoon at the beach
I finally got back to Oistins and stuck it out on the beach Miami and Enterprise Beach. To be on the safe side, I strategically lay down in the shade so I wouldn't get burned on the first day. The rest of the afternoon I just took turns rolling in the sand and swimming. The Caribbean Sea is incredibly warm, so you could last forever in it.
I enjoyed my time there until sunset. It was a truly beautiful sunset. Indeed, it was.
Good night, frogs.
After sunset, I came home, took a shower, had dinner, and then just went to bed. The day in the sun had pretty much ruined me.
Already on my way welcomed by whistlers and they didn't disappoint. They're everywhere and they won't shut up at all. So on purpose, Which of us will give up first?
